The judge’s opinion releasing both was not only scathing, he made my point that what we are facing conjures up 1776. Judge Fred Biery wrote that the government is apparently ignorant “of an American historical document called the Declaration of Independence” and the “grievances against a would-be authoritarian king over our nascent nation.” The judge then ticked off four of the grievances the Founders of our nation cited as the basis for their break from the tyrannical King George including that “He has sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People” and “For quartering large Bodies of Armed Troops among us.” He then added this powerful line, “We the people” are hearing echos of that history.”
