As my fifth novel Propagation nears release (you can pre-order the Kindle edition here: a.co/d/6gC21da ), I am reminded of how my first novel The “Volunteer” came about.

I started modeling nude for art classes in 1984 and loved it from the start. The first photo of me was taken in 2013 at the end of a class where I had posed with various stuffed animals, the most dramatic being that mountain lion.

Nude modeling led me to seeking out nudist resorts, which I visited whenever possible but not often enough. Modeling and nudist resorts led to me walking nude at the Bay to Breakers 12k run in San Francisco which I did for the first time in 2009. These experiences created a love of public nudity.

In 2015, I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be neat if we didn’t have to ever wear clothes? I wonder if I could write a story based on that idea. And then I thought, what if I had a person who COULDN’T ever wear clothes? I played with that idea, came up with a character and a scenario, and started writing.

The result was my 2016 novel The “Volunteer”. A sequel called The Girl Who Stopped Wearing Clothes arrived in 2022. They are my two biggest selling books. Get them at a.co/d/dH8fu9i and a.co/d/biqe3Na
