I ran out of coffee at home the other day. So I was rather glad that I picked up some specialty instant coffee at the Manchester Coffee Festival. I’ve never tried specialty instant, and was very curious about it. We had a cup of each (their House Blend, and single origin Kenya). They were alright. The Kenya was a touch brighter, but generally pleasant cups. They still had this distinct instant coffee taste to them (which I always assumed was just due to cheap source material). I wonder now whether the instant coffee taste is unavoidable in instants. Gotta try some other instants to find out.
