This made me laugh out loud—but I post it to make a point: GenAI will be gas on the fire for social video.

There are tons of AI-generated short clips, fake trailers, and visual experiments online. But there is very little compelling narrative video that you'd actually watch.

Yesterday, I stumbled across this video by jonlajoiecomedy on Instagram. In just two days, it racked up over 8 million views.

It's clever, well-executed (if a bit scatological), and clearly couldn’t have been made without AI.

Within the next few years, social video feeds won’t just be full of dancing, reaction videos, pranks, podcast clips, and recipes—but new types of narrative media like this.
