Unpopular opinion: it's not patriarchy that's the problem.

A father who's leading a household isn't inherently bad.

The “father” we speak of in patriarchy originates from Catholicism.

That empire has been promoting the conqueror mindset; a mindset we still see in both men and women today.

Its belief system requires subordination and hierarchy to function. It says one should not love a neighbor - unless they subjugate themselves to the emperor god.

True divinity has no need to place itself on a pedestal - that's the ego of a human speaking.

So just for the record: by calling it patriarchy - you're shaming all fathers. Including the ones who do speak up for the wellbeing of our communities.

Stop using blanket statements and be precise about the issue you're trying to address. We need to address the predators and conquerors in our community - not the fathers.
