A new category of distributed energy resources (DERs) can simply be plugged in to a wall socket, with no one's permission. My guest today is selling plug-in batteries to small businesses in NYC, enabling them to reduce their power bills, and he's extremely bullish on the category. He thinks plug-in solar panels & batteries will eventually overtake other DERs, and even grid-scale resources. Provocative stuff.

Are plug-in DERs going to spark a grid revolution?
