There are moments when the prospect of a future lived alongside advanced technologies feels peaceful and as though it is the way things should be. A self-driving car allows for more reading and greater opportunity to observe and think.
However, this reality parallels a grittier truth: the unhoused and those struggling with addiction roam areas of this city. To gaze out the window is to gaze upon these individuals. They do not need my sympathy; they need better policies, recovery, and a vision for the future.
Understanding this, a utopian-esque, technologically advanced future must include all of humanity if it is to be enjoyed.
