Bear in mind that Donald Trump despises the NFL.

Trump ran the old USFL into the ground – for which several NFL owners openly mocked him. When the Buffalo Bills came on the market in 2014 and Trump was putting together a bid, the NFL’s owners said no to him personally. Would not be allowed to join their club!

Perhaps this was wise – perhaps Trump would have run the NFL into the ground too.

But right now Trump animosity and the Department of Justice are a worrisome combination.

Add that Utah Senator Mike Lee, an influential conservative, is targeting the NFL’s antitrust exemption.

Lee has taken on the mantle of Senator Arlen Spectre (1930-2102). Both criticize the NFL for receiving public money then increasing prices for average fans. Putting NFL games on streaming-only is in effect a price increase.
