A lot of MAGA think the US has subsidized Europe, which means that they think pulling out from our partnership somehow benefits the US.

They don’t realize just how much the rest of the world has subsidized the US. The status of the dollars reserve currency, has given Americans artificially low interest rates for decades. It has given American tons of cheap money to borrow and invest.

But all of that has been built on America being seen as a trusted partner. A safe heaven. Trump and MAGA are blowing up that status, and once you blow up trust, you are not going to get it back soon.

I predict the US as the world reserve currency and medium for international financial transactions will die.

And when the dollar dies, the world doesn’t really have much alternatives but the Euro. International trade will thus shift to Europe and European banks. European interest rates will drop. Investments will start flowing into Europe to a larger degree.

In short, what Trump and MAGA is going to learn is that they have been floating on cheap money from the rest of the world for a long time.
