Make money doing the work you believe in

Question for those of you who do write-ups of game sessions: how do you do it?

I recently read about a ”notation standard” and it was very interesting, to the point that it might actually change the way I play. See, I have the ongoing Ironsworn campaign and up until now, I’ve narrated everything right away until I’ve come to a point which warrants a move to be done. Then I make the move, and continue narrating based on the outcome.

But with this notation, I found I could play an entire session in about an hour, and just have the broad strokes of narration in between, and leave the narration to be fleshed out at a later time.

It feels so obvious to do after a single attempt that I’m basically here hitting myself for not figuring it out earlier.

So, how do you do it? Do you narrate as you go, or write basically a recap later?
