🗞️BREAKING: Savannah school teacher killed in reckless ICE car chase

Dr. Linda Davis left for work Monday morning like any other day. She never made it home.

The beloved Savannah special-ed teacher was killed when an ICE agent pursued a man through her neighborhood and into a school zone. The chase ended in a collision with her car right outside her school.

In the wake of this horrific tragedy Chatham County officials have been clear: this was preventable.

Their own no-chase policies exist precisely to protect civilians. Across the country no-chase policies exist off the back of years of data that documents how unsafe the practice is and public policy activists fighting to get the practice barred.

Once again, ICE agents rogue behavior has resulted in the loss of someones life.

ICE has already killed at least 3 citizens in 2026: Renée Good, shot through her car window while legally observing ICE officers, Alex Pretti, shot in the back after helping a woman knocked to the ground by ICE officers and Keith Porter Jr., shot dead in his own driveway.

Dozens more have died in ICE detention since in 2025, with little transparency and almost no accountability, and last year there were multiple deadly incidents linked to individuals fleeing federal immigration enforcement actions.

Tributes to Dr. Davis have poured in from her community, where she was much loved, and had been making a difference in children’s lives for decades.
