The app for independent voices

A question for Italians, lovers of Italy…or anyone who knows the answer, really. I’ve been trying to figure out what this delicious pastry I ate (several times) in Siena last year is called. Google has failed me, and I don’t recall seeing it very often. It’s basically two thin pieces of sweet bread with marzipan sandwiched in between, and then carmelized. Like a cross between bostock and kouign amann. Anyone have any idea?
