The Epicurean four-fold cure (tetrapharmakos) for human unhappiness. Attributed to the Greek philosopher and poet Philodemus of Gadara (110–35 BCE), and found in a famous papyrus retrieved at Herculaneum, near Pompeii.
Don’t fear god,
Don’t worry about death;
What is good is easy to get, and
What is terrible is easy to endure.
