Make money doing the work you believe in

Last night, I attended a 4K restoration screening of Steven Spielberg's first theatrical release THE SUGARLAND EXPRESS, an action road movie set in Texas, 1969, at the Academy Museum. The film follows the true story of a criminally convicted couple, who kidnaps an officer and forces him to drive to Sugarland, so they can retrieve custody of their baby.

Before the film began, Goldie Hawn joined for an interview, where she discussed the making of the movie. Hawn expressed her love for the film and its ability to freeze time and capture the cultural psyche of the 1970s.  From the dusty and textured cinematography of the sprawling state to the nail-biting car chase sequences to the charming and sympathetic performances of Goldie Hawn and her co-stars William Atherton and Michael Sacks, this film highlights the early markers of Spielberg's talents.
