We Can Do It Canada🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦.

We, in Canada and throughout the world are seeing democracy and its institutions in the United States in some cases being chipped away at and in other cases, being eradicated at an extremely rapid rate. As many others are saying, this involves not just ignoring the Constitution and laws but also its norms shocking people because of the scale and speed of their destruction.

Americans created this, not every single one, but enough to have elected an insane autocrat intent on centralizing all power, lining his pockets, seeking retribution against his perceived enemies, and all with the full support of his sick supporters. It is now up to Americans to fix this, if they can. I am fully with you in this endeavour and truly wish you success.

My primary concern, however, is Canada.

Canadians are going into a federal election this year and we have our own anti-Canadian autocrat wannabe, incompetent Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre who wants to be Prime Minister. Trump never hid who he is: racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, economic and democratic incompetent who ran on destroying American institutions, economy, and democracy for his own purposes.

Poilievre is doing the same here in Canada. He is unaccomplished, an economic incompetent, a demonstrated bigot and misogynist, he has no respect for the laws in Canada, or its norms. He refuses to get a national security clearance. He is overly generous in his use of taxpayer dollars for his own purposes. He insults Canada in his speeches as being “dumb” and “weak”. He is disrespectful and demeaning when he speaks about other Canadian political leaders and cannot get through a press conference without trying to belittle reporters who he perceives are not supporters.

Poilievre is exactly like Trump and tells us that every time he speaks or issues yet another social media post.

For a number of reasons, Canadians have ignored Poilievre’s utter lack of fitness to be our Prime Minister and he has led in national polling. That has now changed, thankfully, as his poll numbers are slipping badly, likely due to Trudeau’s resignation, the rise in popularity of Mark Carney, and ironically, the threat Trump poses to Canada resulting in a patriotism I have never seen in my lifetime. Canadians recognize that Canada needs a strong and competent government to defend its interests. There is a growing clarity that Poilievre has no ability to do this and likely sides with Trump’s policies.

In desperation and in response to his sinking polls, Poilievre has now announced he is going to have rallies in an attempt to regain support…where have we heard that before? Don’t fall for it!

Canada, we have the opportunity to look forward and vote Liberal in our upcoming federal election to ensure that Poilievre never becomes Prime Minister so that we never have to look back and wonder, in horror, what the hell we did as so many of our American neighbours are now doing. I believe firmly that we can do it 🇨🇦.
