The app for independent voices

A masterclass in how modern democracies are being hollowed out from within.

The entire Dutch parliament voted against introducing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Yet their decision was ignored. Minister Van Heuvelen unilaterally traveled to Brussels and signed the EU agreement anyway, claiming “her opinion also counts.”

This blatant disregard for democratic process is echoed at the EU level. When the public was asked about the CBDC in a survey, the response was overwhelmingly negative. The message was clear: citizens do not want this.

But the EU dismissed those voices. The CBDC rollout is moving forward: an initial version is set for Q4 this year, followed by the Dutch NLID wallet in Q2 next year.

This isn’t just a digital payment upgrade. It's the introduction of a programmable currency—one that gives central authorities real-time control over your spending.

Imagine being allowed to buy only two clothing items per month, "for the climate." Or being forced to spend your savings before they expire, "to stimulate the economy."

Financial freedom is the foundation of personal liberty. The CBDC cracks that foundation, imposed against the will of both the people and their representatives.

This isn’t about innovation. It’s about power.

The question is no longer if this control will be implemented, but how it will be used. And when no one’s listening, who really governs?
