I had an epiphany tonight and decided to write it down and share it because I feel it’s important. First time doing this so… wish us all luck 🤣
This is probably going to piss some people off, but I ensure you, that is absolutely not my intention. Though, if you find this does make you angry, maybe ask yourself “Why?”.
“Late Night Thoughts: A New White Culture”
Racism and cultural conditioning have stripped white people of their own cultural identity.
That may be hard to admit, but it’s truth. Instead of building on what was ours, we chased what belonged to others. We believed our culture wasn’t enough, so we stole…. enslaving, erasing, appropriating, forcing others to conform to a “white” standard we barely understood ourselves.
I feel Kendrick Lamar made that point abundantly clear when he said, “They tried to rig the game, but you can’t fake influence,” during the Super Bowl halftime show.
That line hit me because it’s more than just a lyric. It’s a truth. You can’t fake soul. You can’t fake spirit. You can’t fake pride that’s earned, not taken. And no culture survives when its foundation is built on theft and domination.
What white people have passed down isn’t culture. It’s a mask. A system of fear, not strength. Control, not connection. And now we are left with but a hollow legacy, one that doesn’t nourish, doesn’t ground us, and doesn’t inspire anything worth holding onto.
But we have the opportunity to change that.
We don’t need to erase history to reject the worst of it. We can create something new. We can become a culture rooted in truth. One that respects instead of consumes. One that listens instead of silences. One that sees other cultures not as a threat, but as something sacred.
That could be our new identity. Not a whitewashed image built on supremacy, but a real culture shaped by humility, responsibility, and growth. A culture that learns, that repairs, that chooses empathy over ego.
This isn’t about shame. It’s about being honest with ourselves. We’ve inherited something broken. Now we have to decide what we’re going to do with it.
Respecting others doesn’t weaken us. It strengthens us. And it gives us back something that has been missing for generations… something human. Something whole.
This isn’t a left or right thing. It’s not about politics. It’s about legacy. What kind of people do we want to be? What kind of ancestors do we want to become?
So pause. Look deeper. Let yourself feel it.
Hate has never built anything worth keeping. But love… clear, grounded, and fearless… just might give us something we’ve never truly had.
A culture worth being proud of.
