BREAKING: Trump appoints beauty salon owner to get to decide who can or can’t enter the US.

Donald Trump has put America’s borders in the hands of someone who used to specialize in blowouts and bridal makeup, and who somehow will now get to decide who is “worthy” of a U.S. visa.

Mora Namdar, a Project 2025 alum and Texas beauty salon owner whose “fun and cheeky” mini chain charges $45 for a blowout and $325 for hair extensions, is now assistant secretary of state for consular affairs, overseeing passports, visa approvals, and revocations worldwide.

Namdar isn’t just a side hustle bureaucrat; she helped write the playbook. In Project 2025, she painted U.S.-funded broadcasters like Voice of America and Radio Free Europe as security risks that parroted “anti-U.S. talking points” and called for the agency that oversees them to be gutted or shut down.

Now that same ideological warrior runs the office that can block journalists, activists, and critics from ever setting foot in the country, while Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio brag about banning Europeans for “censoring American viewpoints” online and promise more bans to come.

In her Senate confirmation testimony, Namdar embraced the idea that if someone “undermines our foreign policy,” consular officers should yank their visa, turning border control into an instrument of political punishment, not security. Inside the State Department, her earlier stint leading Near Eastern affairs already raised alarms over management and morale, yet the Trump administration treated that as a feature, not a bug, and handed her the global keys anyway.

Project 2025’s authors promised “personnel is policy,” and they meant it.

PBS tracking shows roughly half the agenda is already in motion, with ideological appointees like Namdar at State and Brendan Carr at the FCC driving crackdowns on media, tech, and “wrong” viewpoints under the banner of fighting a “censorship cartel.”

It’s the Trump-era formula in its purest form: loyalty over experience, branding over governance, vibes over vetting.

When the same crowd that sells $100 lash bars is empowered to decide which foreign critics are too dangerous to enter the United States, the makeover isn’t just cosmetic—it is a hostile redesign of democracy in full glam.

America, meet your new gatekeeper. She does braids, border control, and national security — all in one appointment.
