BREAKING: “HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT SERVICE OR SACRIFICE!” Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner beautifully gets revenge on Ted Cruz for mocking dead Marines by putting an op-ed brutally trashing him in his hometown newspaper!

Platner, a former Marine who fought in Iraq, took serious issue with Ted Cruz mocking his fellow dead Marines after Platner told Susan Collins that “I can assure you your prayers didn’t save my friends from dying in the last war you supported.”

So Platner took out an entire op-ed in the Houston Chronicle in which he ripped Cruz a new one and called him out for treating the lives of American servicemembers like numbers on a statsheet.

“Sen. Ted Cruz apparently thinks dead American service members are a punchline.

Texas’ junior senator made that abundantly clear earlier this month when he once again did what he does best: make an absolute fool of himself on the internet. This time he did it by trying to crack a joke about American Marines dying in Iraq.”

“And not some theoretical dead American servicemen — but 17 U.S. Marines and Navy corpsmen of 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines. Seventeen brave Marines and sailors I served with were killed in 2005 and 2006. Seventeen Marines and sailors who were loved by their comrades. Seventeen Marines and sailors who didn’t come home to their families.”

“I’m a veteran of the Marine Corps and the United States Army. I was an infantryman in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a machine gunner in Ramadi and Fallujah, my company saw fierce fighting and sustained the casualties that come with it. “

“It has not been easy spending the past week watching Washington politicians gleefully cheer as we send more young men and women overseas to die in a war the president isn’t even pretending to have a rationale for.”

“Cruz simply has no clue.”

“He knows nothing about service or sacrifice. When a historic winter storm hit Texas, he left the state to go sunbathing in Cancun.”

“He knows nothing about courage. He now licks the boots of a man, President Donald Trump, who once slandered his wife.”

“Most of the politicians celebrating yet another conflict in the Middle East know nothing of the horrors of war. They could not begin to imagine what it feels like when you hear another of your friends has been killed. They’ve never seen friends get ripped apart by high explosives.”

“This attitude disgusts me.”

“Because it’s never what happens to them. It’s what happens to us.”

Powerful words from a man who has actually put his life on the line for our country – unlike Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, or half the Republicans out there who cheerfully celebrate these horrific, needless wars.

Platner’s willingness to confront Ted Cruz on his own turf is just what we need in our leaders. He’ll make a great Senator!
