So now our writing gets scanned for AI, BY AI.  It’s familiar, isn't it? We already live like this. A woman walks into a room and gets scanned — for filler, for Botox, for "work," for whether she's aged too much or suspiciously too little.  One plastic surgeon can spot another's hand in a face, especially with celebrities. Now a machine can spot another machine in a paragraph, especially in popular writers.

Write plainly, and you sound flat; write well, and you could be flagged as artificial. Age visibly and you've let yourself go. Intervene, and you're vain, fake, caught. Is there a safe place to stand? The standard, especially for women, was never meant to be met. It was meant to keep you watching yourself, a potent panopticon.   Of course, better questions do need to be asked about AI. What mindset does it extend? 

I'm not here to out-argue the AI experts or the writing experts. But I am the only expert on being me. I don't want to live pre-editing my face/body and my sentences to pass a scan that may or may not be accurate. I want aging to be the goal, not the thing I'm caught failing to hide.
