An Arab Israeli just said the thing nobody marching for Palestine will say out loud.

Human rights activist Somaya Bashir has more reason than almost anyone to be bitter, to pick a side, to let the violence harden her. She refuses.

She condemns Hamas terrorism without an asterisk. No “context.” No “but.” Zero tolerance, full stop.

Then she names the thing most people miss. The point of terror was never just the bodies. It was the wedge. Terrorists want Jews to look at their Arab neighbors with suspicion. They want Arabs to give up on the country they call home, the Jewish state. They want the trust between us to rot from the inside, because a society that turns on itself does their work for them.

Somaya watched all of that and said no.

That clarity costs her something real. She lives where the consequences land. She doesn’t get to log off and go to brunch.

So here is my honest question. What does an Arab woman in Israel understand about this that the loudest voices in London and New York somehow don’t?

Watch her. Then ask why the people who claim to speak for Arabs can’t stand the sound of an Arab woman who won’t hate. She deserves our support.
