Didn't know him. Interacted with him a few times, briefly. He'd have a table at 3Rivers Comic Con, usually in a corner opposite of mine. Got HHFT prints signed for my big sister. I can't call him a friend or even an acquaintance, but he was a colleague in comics; a comrade on the same battlefield.

I read his note. A lot of people question his motives, his wording, and his defense. That's a pretty shitty thing to do in light of the ultimate purpose of that note. That note, as public as it is, was personal. It was written in the moment. It is…what it is. My take? The guy was struggling, and his last thoughts were of his parents.

If he was guilty of everything he was accused of, if he was 100% innocent, he didn't deserve this ending for his story.
