My Substack centers largely on how spiritual life informs my music and my deeper work as an artist in the world.
In light of this new TikTok ban and the shift toward a new type of online engagement (which I believe will be for the better) I invite you to be part of my community there (takes one click in the bio).
I post every week about the various things on my heart; from my poems, thoughts on creative process, watercolors, spiritual reflections and my ever-shifting understanding of God (Love)
I also often share the work of other artists, musicians, mystics and writers that inspire me. Today’s post (a small poem I wrote) features artist and visionary, Hilma af Klint. This exact painting actually hangs above the desk in home studio next to a calligraphic script — handwritten by my friend David Chang — with the word “devotion”.
They each remind me of my true work in the world — what Hilma af Klint called the “divine commission.”
