I am in Kansas! After about three days of constant movement to unpack, clean, organize, dispose of garbage, move furniture, and build desks, we are pretty much settled in. Just missing water and internet, but internet should be installed in a few hours from now, if all goes well! We’re living like we’re camping, bringing gallons of water from the mother-in-law’s for washing and to be able to use our own toilet. 😂 Every time I walk down the dirt road with two freshly filled gallons in my hands, I’m singing in my head: 🎶"Father’s hunting in the forest, Mother’s cooking in the hoooome, and I must go to fetch the water, til the day that I am groooooown!”🎵🎶🤣

The walls are a bit bare (we’ll be painting in May, so we’re not putting anything up yet), but I am loving the little things—like this dining table that was my mother-in-law’s when she was little! We found a whole Yellowstone dining set (tablecloth, runner, and place mats) on sale which is lovely, and I adore the mismatched chairs.

With the art up and the rest of our furniture out here, it’s going to be super cozy! We have roosters and cows in the distance, but other than that, it’s complete silence out there to the point my ears start to ring. I have been around too much noise for too long.
