I feel this. I’ve forever been on a hustle. Side gigs since I was 18. I collected the beer caps from the bars I worked at, poked 2 holes in them with a nail to make them buttons, and sewed them on belts, jackets, purses from the Army surplus store and thrift shops. Made easy money selling them at shows at dive bars… sometimes I’d sell the jacket off my back. Thirty bucks and I bought a lil bit of groceries the next day. It’s always brought me a little electric thrill conjuring money out of thin air. I never was good enough to make it big bucks, though… I figured I’m missing something in the process. The ability to scale, to make robust deals.

Whatever. I still enjoy the hustle. But with a UBI, maybe I could have the time and space to figure out that missing link.
