Yes, the Russian agent was the interpreter for Witkoff.
A few months ago, I published a post saying that something felt off. Trump’s special envoy, to Russian and Ukraine Steve Witkoff, didn’t have his own translator with him and seemed to rely on an unknown interpreter provided to him in Russia. According to Christo Grozev, here’s what really happened. Steve Witkoff did use a translator, provided upon arrival - an individual who turned out to be a Russian spy. A strategic and significant mistake to make going into such negotiations… either incompetence or completely trusting the other party. Not good in any way.
