While Russia is killing its people, Ukraine shows true humanity.

This wonderful 7-year-old girl, Vika, was injured in kindergarten. Unfortunately, her injury was not treated properly, and the disease developed into a bone infection.

Vika urgently needed to get to the children’s hospital in Kyiv for treatment, but due to weather conditions there was no transportation. No public transport was available, and there was no one to help. The girl’s father was one of Ukraine’s defenders - a hero who has remained missing in action.

So Vika´s mother wrote to customer services of Ukrainian Railways, explaining the situation and instead of just refunding the ticket Ukrainian Railways came to help. A train from Kyiv to Khmelnytskyi made an additional stop in the small town of Korzhivtsi to pick up the mother and child, while the rail crew donated their own money to support Vika’s treatment.

Thank you for your humanity, JSC "Ukrainian Railways" Oleksandr Pertsovskyi

The story was shared by Vika’s mother herself and caught public attention when she thanked the railway company.
