New reality of warfare - 5 drone operators destroyed "enemy forces" in NATO training even before the enemy managed to get into fight.
During Hedgehog 2025 in Estonia, a large NATO battle group advanced exactly the way armies have trained for decades: armored vehicles moving, tents set up, units concentrating to attack. Just normal doctrine.
Then a small Ukrainian drone cell of 5 drone operators from Nemesis (412 unmanned brigade) supported by ca 5 Delta command and control operators entered the scene.
So all together about ten Ukrainian operators, using their Delta battlefield-management system, began detecting targets in real time. It was a loop: see → share → strike
Within roughly half a day: - 17 armored vehicles were “destroyed” - about 30 successful strikes were conducted - two battalions became combat-ineffective
Meanwhile NATO forces never even found the drone teams.while the saturation in the exercise was actually lower than on the real Ukrainian front.
The battlefield has changed from a place you maneuver on to a place of constant real-time information and decision-making.
The decisive advantage in modern war is no longer firepower alone - it is the length and speed of the chain. The side that turns data into action fastest wins before the other side understands the fight has started.
Hedgehog was a warning - the one with technology, data and speed in their side wins the modern battles and wars
