Make money doing the work you believe in

Day 18 of our camper van escapades and we're up and off at 7am to jump on the train, through the tunnel, to France.

First stop before we go is to get Evie checked in at Pet Reception. And this time I know where I’m going. Last September when we took the train for the first time I got totally lost and it took forever. I stomped back to the van saying “sell the damn thing” - the van that is not the dog.

My mood had already been compromised by a close encounter (while I was driving) with a low bridge in Ely. It had a clearance of 2.8m and, guess what, our van - as we know now but didn't then - is precisely 2.8m. There was a freaky whooshing, scraping, sound as we went under it. Inside my head I was having a total meltdown. As it turned out there was actually no damage, but we didn't know that until we got all the way back to Copenhagen! 😡

Anyways, no scary bridges on this trip and we were in France 90 minutes earlier than planned. Our luck on this trip continued to run as we managed to wiggle ourselves onto an earlier train than we’d booked.

We hammered our way across France, Belgium, The Netherlands, and on into Germany… Germany might be big, but as it's one of Denmarks neighbours it feels like we're almost home as soon as we cross the border.

In a van you never know what you’re going to get or sometimes where you’ll sleep, except that it will be in the van. But parked where?

We'd planned to just stop at a services to sleep. But after 500+km Kim was done with driving, it was only 3pm, and I was on our ‘Search 4 Sites’ app looking for a spot to park up away from the noise of the highway.

As it turned out we ended up in lovely Münster...surrounded by trees in the carpark of a sports complex / living museum. Right beside a beautiful park and lovely lake. Talk about luck! Evie was in doggie heaven.

Tomorrow it’s more Germany, there's plenty more of it to come, before we trip over the border and back into Denmark…
