Just before the 2024 presidential election, 233 psychiatrists and mental health professionals stated in an open letter their conviction that “Trump exhibits behavior that tracks with the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual’s (DSM V) diagnostic criteria for ‘narcissistic personality disorder,’ ‘antisocial personality disorder,’ and ‘paranoid personality disorder,’ all made worse by his intense sadism, which is a symptom of malignant narcissism.” 

Three dozen of the signatories have now issued their updated assessment of Trump, warning that “Donald Trump’s mental state since our 2024 statement has deteriorated even further — we are compelled to warn of a President of the United States who is increasingly a danger to the public…  If we were called upon under the 25th Amendment to judge the President’s present ability to discharge the duties of his office, we would have to conclude that he lacks the capacity to do so.” 

The truly maddening thing is that our political system has so utterly failed that Trump essentially has been made immune from being removed from office via the 25th amendment or impeachment. To top it off, the Trump-owned Supreme Court has given him blanket immunity for all official acts. A modern-day teflon-coated “Crazy” Joey Gallo occupies the Oval Office. 

The country and the world are held hostage to this mentally deranged man. There is no limit to the damage he can and will inflict on us all.
