In the '60s, 70s, we went from one income, middle-class families to two incomes needed to maintain a middle-class lifestyle. In the '80s, we began to lose corporate health benefits and corporations began to successfully squeeze out small business. In the '90s, corporate job security and pensions disappeared, replaced by 401k’s. - not enough to retire on. By 2000, literally half of this nation's small businesses were gone. (In 1980, 72% of this nation's GDP was created by small business. Now, that figure has flipped, with corporate America generating over 70% of this nation's GDP leaving the American worker at the Mercy of these greedy corporations). All this as we went from 1 billionaire in 1980 to close to a thousand right now. The American dream is gone.
The stupidity here is that Republicans are still cutting. They think they can squeeze America even more when America has had enough.
