CALLING IT OUT

Commentary by Jeff Kamen

I want to look you in the eye and tell you that I am increasingly convinced that Trump’s panic is going to explode in our faces before the midterm election, probably manifesting in an attempt to deploy our military as well as ICE and his January 6 marauders into blue and purple states. I think it’s crucial that we prepare for that — especially emotionally.

It is extremely important not to give in to the escalating fear that Trump and his psychological warfare team have been whipping up.

As their boss loses in Iran and falls apart in front of them, filling his desperately lonely nights with dozens of insane tweets, Stephen Miller and some of his acolytes will be tempted to act more independently, more aggressively, more mindlessly. All in the name of defending the Trump revolution — which created their personal access to power— and the horrific destruction it has brought to the nation and the world.

More racist, Millerite madness is predictable because of their 18 months of deepening Potomac Fever – the specialized, dark intoxication created by having your hands on the levers of federal power in Washington DC, which borders on the Potomac river.

Trump’s apparent dementia is deepening in virtual harmony with the palpable erosion of his political power amidst the increasing possibility of impeachment followed by irrelevance as soon as January if the midterm elections are free and fair and unobstructed by Trump’s anticipated deployment of gunmen.

Remember, one reason the emperor created that $1.77 billion dollar “weaponization” fund was so he could write huge “thank you,” checks to his 1500 January 6 rioters who brutalized US Capitol police as the rioters chanted, “Fight for Trump!” That’s enough tax payer cash to make everyone on those convicted criminals an overnight millionaire. Trump already pardoned them once. He could easily do so, again.

I will be voting this November at a nearby firehouse. Our regular polling place. Not by mail, not by early voting, but on election day. I wouldn’t miss that opportunity to observe history in the making.

Please take good care of yourself and stay connected.

-Jeff
