Make money doing the work you believe in

This is us 10 years ago today. I was unbelievably coming home after a month in the hospital.

My baby daughter was 6 months old and 1 month before I was diagnosed with late stage triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma-breast cancer.

One week before my treatments started I was in an ambulance on the way to the ER with what was subsequently diagnosed as an infection in my lungs that had developed in my port.

My son in the picture was 5.

More happened than I have room to write about here…

This day, May 31 is so special…it is mine and Chris’ Convalidation Day, our daughter’s baptism day and the date of my confirmation. Two years after I left the hospital we returned to the Catholic Church.

I have no great wisdom to share… we fought to survive…we prayed…others prayed and we found God. We had been so lost. It is a timeless story repeated all over the world. It is common. Yes, wonderfully common.

When we let God in, when we are finally broken enough to let Him in..He changes us.

And now… everything is different. He takes the ugliest things and transforms them.

He makes us beautiful by his love, when we let Him.

And He gives us peace.
