I just met with a coalition of organizations who fight to protect SNAP and the ACA —it’s called Protect Our Care. Guess what I learned on the call? The government has a 5 to 6 billion contingency fund they could tap into right now to pay for SNAP. As in today.
In other words Republicans absolutely CAN fund SNAP on November 1. They simply don’t want to.
Also? We have two weeks to get Congress to pass a bill extending the ACA premium tax credits or the insanely high rates we’re hearing about right now will be locked in and it will be too late to change them.
Tell a friend and call your reps now.
