Intentional Arrangement
On process knowledge and the results of decades of outsourcing knowledge work.
Companies outsource development to save costs, only to discover they’ve created a knowledge vacuum. When the offshore team turns over (as contractors inevitably do), the new team has to rebuild understanding from scratch because procedural knowledge hadn’t been properly captured and embedded within knowledge repositories and systems. Projects that should have taken months take years. Bugs that had been solved, reappeared. Technical debt compounds because no one maintains the institutional memory of architectural decisions and their rationales.
