YOU THINK THEY NEED US MORE THAN WE NEED THEM? Really?

Have you forgotten why we've always put our athletes on pedestals? It’s because THEY ARE THE BEST WE HAVE. The ones who prove what we’re capable of when we give everything we’ve got. You think those people… the best in the world… can just be swapped out for someone willing to parrot your GODDAMN propaganda? Get real.

If we want them to wear our flag with pride, it’s OUR job to give them something worth that pride. Not the other way around. They’re already out there clawing for every scrap of pride they can find.

Poor bastards. I’m honestly embarrassed for them.

You’ve got it backwards. We celebrate them because their excellence is a reflection of this country at its best. They don’t owe us. We owe them… for the sacrifice, the grind, the devotion that took them to that level. And guess what? A lot of them are children of immigrants… the very families that believed in this country enough to come here. Without them, our podiums would be empty.

And now? We’re driving that belief away. Smashing the very “why” that drew them here in the first place. We’re IDIOTS, slicing off our own nose just to spite our face.

I’m sick to death of the ignorance. The blind, bloated arrogance. The demand for flag-waving submission.

Maybe it’s time we face reality.

It isn’t them. It’s us. WE are the reason they feel conflicted. And in this country—the United States of America—we are free to wrestle with that conflict, to speak it out loud, and to do so without fear of retribution or persecution from the very officials sworn to protect those rights.

A true patriot would be apologizing for shaming our best athletes on the world stage instead of demanding they act “grateful” just for carrying our flag.
