"Life is lived in the arena", this primarily means just doing shit, while i said not to think of consequences, humor me this. Staying in the arena means that you are now part of the set of people that either win or lose, there is no middle ground.

This is where being optimistic comes into play, you hope that you are one of the individuals that "win", so to speak, being optimistic doesn't mean you will win, infact it doesn't guarantee anything. It is just preferable to being bitter all the time, the way i see it there is no inherent downside to being optimistic about life, at least not in this day and age.

Lets consider the flip side, say a year passes, you do nothing for the entirety of that year or let's even give some leeway, you did the same actions you are doing now for one more year.

Do you think there will be any qualitative change in your life, i think not. A year will pass regardless, the only thing that will be different is the date, you are still the same person you were before, no progress, no growth in any form or manner. Do you like that reality, that us the question ypu are faced with now.
