I’ve been thinking a lot about pleasure — and the activities we do simply for pleasure’s sake, not to be productive like the good little workers we were conditioned to be. For me, as an artist, creative practice must be an act of pleasure-making; otherwise, I don’t think I could create anything worthwhile. It would be a mere facsimile of a human act, missing the essential essence of spirit. And personally, I think we were all brought here to play.
