Because I grew up in a different culture, we aren’t really big into Thanksgiving feast and gathering. But I can get behind being thankful on this day.
I realize it is a privilege for me to be sitting here in a garage full of tools working on a passion project while so many are homeless. And I’m grateful.
I’m grateful that I have a partner who works hard and instinctive that she never waited around for me to fail but started working on a plan B early. Actually, our ability to leapfrog over the years is why we have come this far. Now we’re both business owners because of her.
I’m grateful for my compassionate daughter who comes to hug her daddy whenever I feel down. She’s one-of-a-kind artist of life and her commitment to something she cares about is obsessive.
I’m grateful for the energetic son who tackles the world with sincere smiles and screams. His growth has been amazing to watch for his parents. My mini-me you complete me.
I’m grateful for my parents for shaping me into the person I am. It’s been quite a journey and provided the tools and resources they had, they tried their best to bring me up to the best.
I’m grateful for my sisters who had hung around with me in my childhood and creating so many memories together. They were my first buddies, inmates, teammates, crew. I could never have survived my childhood without them.
I’m grateful for my high school gang who had been the rock since my teenage years. They gave me a second home I never knew existed and made me feel safe at the time when I was giving up on people. “Like cinemas, they come and go.” I remember saying. Oh how they’ve proven me wrong.
For all who have come into my life, stayed around, and moved on. You have changed me. Without you, I wouldn’t who I am today. So thank you.
So I will get on with the day with these in mind and hopefully they will stick. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
