In The Bleak Midwinter.

I wonder if I actually prefer bleak to bright? It makes me consider why given that the cold, damp, oppressive conditions aren’t necessarily good for one’s head space, they feed my creativity. Spring and summer have their positives but for my creativity, bare trees, dark skies and limited light really work for me. I’ve recently rediscovered my love of old Canon cameras and lenses. I sold all my Panasonic gear and went backwards with a 6D & 1DX Mark ii. Great low light cameras paired with older and cheaper Canon lenses, are a joy to use. I still have my Pentax K3 III but for winter time, there isn’t a better camera than the Canon 6D. Such a brilliant, simple design and a sensor that paints rather than captures .

I find winter a two faced god. You have to endure all that Winter in the UK brings but the artistic, creative possibilities are for me, quite magical. I just need to work on creaking a bit less and get out and take pictures!
