BURNHAM TELLS SCHOOLS TO ADAPT TEACHING TO LOCAL BUSINESS NEEDS.

What the hell does that mean? Classes in hairdressing and call centre management?

This is bit cart before the horse, jumbled thinking.

First we need an economy that has strong viable businesses, businesses that offer the possibility of career progression and enable social mobility. Few exist. Does Burnham understand this?

British business is bruised and battered. Brexit saw thousands go to the wall and 20,000 ceased trading with the EU. Burnham’s first priority should be put right the wrongs created by Brexit. Brexit needs undone. When it is, businesses will prosper and grow. Then he should start asking schools to accommodate the needs of business, which would best be done by rethinking the education schools offer. Education should offer a skills based option as well as an academic one. The German system is one that works very well.

We’re not shouting down your good intentions, Mr Burnham, but we question your thinking and your priorities. If you want a strong business sector, to grow the economy and help the young, it would be a good idea to remove the major impediment to your ambitions - GET BREXIT UNDONE!
