The BBC's Daniel Sandford on the forced "retirement" of West Midlands' chief constable:
“I think it’ll be quite a long time before a police force recommends that fans, however controversial, are banned again in this country without making sure that they have very widespread support.”
No, Daniel. The fear will be reserved exclusively for Israeli clubs.
I'm pretty sure that any European club's fans widely found chanting race hatred and threatening violence to ethnic minorities would be banned immediately, and no politician or media outlet would consider raising a peep of complaint.
It's only Israeli fans that now have absolute licence to come to the UK and chant genocidal race hatred – "Death to the Arabs!" and "We killed all the children in Gaza!" – while attacking anyone who looks Muslim.
We just put a big sign up, saying: "Bring your violent, racist bile to Britain. We'll shield you by calling anyone who objects, even a chief constable, an antisemite."
