Does Substack need a Netflix model?

Just thinking out loud here.

First of all, I absolutely believe in Substack’s mission and writers getting paid for their work. 1000%.

But also, I believe in readers getting good value. And $5+ dollars a month after 7 days trial seems like a lot to ask after a pretty short period.

Also, a lot of us on here are both writers and readers.

So, I have an idea where I think everyone could win…

When all the rules change, so can we.

It doesn't feel like there's any solid ground. Anywhere.

But when everything is changing all around us, that's a starting gun.
