If the Vatican ignores and obscures this and still refuses to adjudicate, and people still choose to believe that fiction of a decree of “excommunication”, reason would then be far too gone.

“Statement from the General House: The Fraternity files an appeal against the decree of July 2, 2026

The FSSPX informs that, in response to the decree issued on July 2, 2026 by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith, it filed a preliminary appeal to the same Dicastery on July 11, in accordance with canons 1734 and subsequent of the Code of Canonical Law.

This procedure, which constitutes a prerequisite before the possible introduction of a hierarchical action, has the effect of suspending the effects of the decree, in accordance with canon 1353 of the Code of Canonical Law.

By this remedy, the Brotherhood intends to exercise the right that the Church recognizes to anyone who considers himself harmed by an administrative act to request his rectification, in a spirit of respect for the ecclesiastical authority and of a faithful commitment to justice, truth and the good of the Church.

The FSSPX puts this request in the hands of the competent authorities and entrusts this approach to the prayer of all the faithful.”
