The app for independent voices

Hi Friends,   I'm reading Anchored by Deb Dana right now, and instead of reading it alone, I want to invite you to read it alongside me.

This is not a program or a course.  It's just a opportunity for to read and learn together and to move forward after a significant loss.

What's been resonating for me as I read Anchored is how much of our experience after loss or change isn't driven by insight or effort, but by the state of our nervous system.

When things feel harder than they should, it's often not because we're doing something wrong. It's because our system is trying to find safety.

This is a free, biweekly book club for people who want to explore Anchored in a way that is safe, practical, and human.

All you need to do is buy the book.   We'll meet every other Wednesday at 7:00 PM ET, starting January 14.

This is not therapy, not coaching, and not a support group. There is no expectation to share personal stories, process emotions publicly, or work toward change. Listening quietly is full participation.

We'll move slowly through the book over six biweekly sessions, pairing chapters and allowing time between meetings for ideas to settle into lived experience.

Each session will include:

- a brief orientation to one core idea from the reading - a single reflective question for personal noticing

- optional conversation, with no advice-giving or fixing

The focus is on familiarity, not mastery. It's on noticing how safety, stress, and regulation show up in everyday life, especially during periods of change or strain.

There is nothing to achieve here and no way to fall behind. Come as you are. Take what's useful. Leave the rest.

If this feels like something you'd like to be part of, you can read more and join here:

No pressure. This is just an open invitation.   If we get enough people, maybe I can get Deb to join us for a Q&A.
