China just released a plan to reduce its dependence on Canadian exports.

Ottawa’s response? Sell them 50% more by 2030.

That collision is the subject of today’s Readout. Canada grows enough food to feed itself and much of the world. But we ship it raw and buy it back as pasta, oil, and packaged goods. That is not a food policy. It is an incomplete one.

China has a plan. The question is whether Canada does.
