Sharing this video of a low-visibility landing down to about 50 ft using a Head-Up Display (HUD).
This isn’t me landing, I can’t film in the cockpit due to company policy but it is the same type of HUD and procedures I use in real operations.
HUDs let us keep our eyes outside while still seeing all critical flight data, which makes precision approaches in fog and low clouds feel surprisingly stable and controlled.
It’s one of the many reasons modern aviation is so safe, even when Mother Nature turns the lights out.
