Hello! I’m looking for some guest writers to write pieces for A Day Well Spent.

The common threads of my newsletter are: self-empowerment, personal fulfilment and growth, and ways of slow and sustainable living.

I’m looking for new pieces that haven't previously been published elsewhere and on topics I don’t already regularly talk about on A Day Well Spent.

(therefore not gardening, foraging, fermenting, everyday joys, a day in the life etc. — please familiarise yourself with what’s already on A Day Well Spent before sending your pitch)

What I’m looking for

I'd love to hear from those with expertise and/or relevant experience in whatever they’re pitching.

Topics I’m especially interested in (but I’m very open to others, convince me of your idea!):

  • Nature and spirituality

  • Art and crafts

  • Movement and exercise

  • Philosophy

  • Alternative medicines, health and wellbeing

  • Indigenous cultures

  • Practical how to guides

  • Memoir / first person / opinion pieces

What to include in your pitch

  1. Be concise and clear — give me an idea of what the structure of the piece would look like as well as the title

  2. Share your writing background and why you specifically should write the piece — you’re pitching yourself as well as the article. Direct me to specific pieces you have written you think are relevant, don’t direct me to your whole Substack page or website

  3. Don’t tell me why you find the topic interesting, tell me why readers of A Day Well Spent would find it interesting

  4. If there are platforms you would promote the piece on, include those

I am alas not yet in a position to pay with hard cash, but I’d be delighted to offer a year’s subscription to A Day Well Spent in exchange for successful pitches. And your piece would go out to over 5000 inboxes.

If interested, please send your short pitch to leylakazim@gmail.com with subject GUEST POST.

Please note: I won’t be able to reply to all emails but I will read them all (and I thank you for them). If I think what you’ve offered might be a good fit, you will hear back from me.

I will close applications once I’ve filled all the spots, so there isn’t currently a deadline. But the longer you leave it, the more likely spots will be filled.

THANK YOU ALL 🌠
