NOTE Before Post 289B:
A Thought About God's Timing...
One thing that stands out throughout Scripture is that God is rarely early by our standards.
And He is never late by His own.
→ Abraham waited.
→ Joseph waited.
→ Israel waited.
→ David waited.
→ The prophets waited.
→ The disciples waited.
For generations, God promised that He would send His Spirit.
Then Pentecost came.
Not a day early.
Not a day late.
Exactlywhen God intended.
I suspect many of us struggle with waiting because we assume that if God is silent, He is inactive.
Scripture teaches something different.
Often, God is preparing long before we see what He is doing.
The disciples spent tendays praying between the Ascension and Pentecost.
They could not see what was coming.
But God was already at work.
Perhaps one of the hardest acts of faith is trusting that God's apparent delays are not His absence.
The same God who fulfilled His promises at Pentecost still keeps His promises today.
Waiting is difficult.
But waiting on God is never wasted.
