UPDATE: On Wednesday, Popular Information revealed that the purportedly progressive Lead Left super PAC was linked to the Congressional Leadership Fund, the super PAC of House Republicans.

Yesterday, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) denied personal involvement. The Congressional Leadership Fund, notably, declined comment.

As today’s special report reveals, however, Johnson’s effort to distance himself from this Republican dirty tricks operation is rapidly losing credibility. We have uncovered links between two more sham PACs and the treasurer of Johnson’s campaign committee.
